Celebrated BIRTH's fee for doula care is $1,000. The first payment of $500 is requested at contract signing and the remaining balance is due at our postpartum visit. Alternative payment arrangements can be made if discussed and agreed upon. This comprehensive doula package includes:

It is possible to pay for your Celebrated BIRTH doula with your FSA (Flexible Savings Account). Doula care is sometimes covered under medical insurance.

- Two prenatal visits
- Unlimited phone and email support
- On-call availability starting two weeks prior to your due date through the birth of your baby
- Resource binder full of evidence-based research and tons of birth related material
- Use of a TENS machine if desired (more info about TENS below)
- Labor support on your BIRTH-day starting in your desired location
- Immediate postpartum and breastfeeding support
- One postpartum visit

What is a TENS machine?
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) is a small, hand held device that can be used to emit mild bursts of electricity through the skin. This non-invasive, safe tool helps stimulate the nerve fibers and can work to help block pain signals in labor. In 2009, the Cochrane Collaboration reviewed the TENS machine and concluded that "women should have the option of using transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) as a non-pharmacological method of pain management in labor." In their research, the found that many women, though not consistently, rated the onset of "labor pain" to be later than their non-TENS counterparts and the severity of their "labor pain" to be less.
